Happening in December...

Look what I pulled from my garden yesterday.  This is the first time I have ever been able to get carrots to produce. They always have the most beautiful greenery but usually no carrot.  They are some crazy shapes but they taste good!  And as a bonus on radish and it was so spicy...Yummy!

Foley Christmas Parade

I forgot the dadgum memory card for the camera so I was going to use the phone camera and the battery died, but there was a lady nearby with a phone charger that fit my phone and she popped it on charge for 5 minutes which gave me enough battery life to snap this pic and call Mom and Meg a couple of times.  Got to love Christmas Time!

And the museum is decorated, cleaned and ready for the
Christmas Celebration!

Design Wars 2013 Mystery Holiday CAL

Alright, I am joining in on this CAL.  I had to twist my own arm a bit because of the need to purchase a pattern, because funds are tight, but since there was enough in my paypal account I decided to splurge all little on myself. Beside maybe I will win a prize when it is all said and done.

Design Wars Mystery Holiday CAL

So Part I has been printed out and colors picked.
Red Heart Orchid and Burgundy...don't know why they look this bright.  Maybe the camera battery is getting too low.

Part I is complete.......

oops forgot to take a picture before I start part II

FINISHED!

Funny the burgundy looks red in the picture. Not sure why the camera won't capture the correct color in this picture but it did in the other picture.  But here it is...wonder if it will get filled with goodies..............

Really had a great time with this CAL and can't wait to see everyone's  Stocking.

Drunk Chicken and the Cheerio Caper

Drunk Chicken and the Cheerio Caper

Ok so I just wanted to show off my drunken chicken.  Since I don't have one of the fancy cooking pans that I hope to someday get from Tom Jones Pottery http://tomjonespottery.net/catalog.htm

http://www.tomjonespottery.net/encaps/rwx/036.JPG
(of course I can't decide if I want the Baldwin Blue  or this solid blue

or even any of the other colors he has...I love them all!)

Alright back to the story.....I fixed a drunken chicken baking pan using part of an angel food cake pan, aluminum foil and the bottom section of a Guardian Service Fryer.  Poured beer in the make-shift  cup, seasoned a fryer with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, set the chicken upright onto the make-shift cup and baked to a golden brown.  It was sooooo goooood.  Maybe I don't need the Tom Jones Chicken Baker but I want the Tom Jones Chicken Baker.

And now the Cheerio Caper… DUN-DUN-DUUUUN!!! Sound Effect      http://youtu.be/bW7Op86ox9g

Well as meals and snacks go Landon's favorite choice is good ole fashion Cheerios.  Just the plain ole ones, not the sugar coated or flavored just plain ole dry cheerios.  He got the box from the shelf and headed to the table.  I guess Granny was a little too slow with getting there with the bowl because........
The little booger helped himself and was indeed proud of it.  I'm still not sure why they had to be on the seat and the table but at least he eats good food.  What he didn't eat went to the indoor garbage disposals we have roming the house.  And by the way he did not empty the whole box when he done this.  He just made the two piles.  One on the table and one on the seat.  The shirt says it all!

June...end of the month?

Wow end of the month already.  Seems only fitting to add something today since it  has been since June 1 for a post.  Reminds me of the quote..."The hurrier I go the behinder I get."

A few good days of rain then it got really dry and just as we break down to water here's comes the rain again.  It is funny the plants that get all "happy" after a rain and some that you just can't seem to please.  Well the squash plants have really perked up since the fertilizer sessions.  Still no zucchini to eat but maybe they will produce.  Corn just did not make it.  Green beans no luck either and that's really funny because I hated green beans growing up because that seemed to be all that was  there was growing in  Granny's garden.  Have been able to get some eggplant, a few crookneck squash and green tomatoes, cucumbers and plenty of the "TamiG" grape tomatoes.  The slicing tomatoes are fighting the "leaf foot bug" and bloom rot and last week the blasted Tomato Worm.  Oh and last night I got two pods of Okra.

Did a little weeding yesterday evening and this morning snapped some shots.

Pineapple Lilies, Mulberry and Turk's Cap

The pond took a beating when Prince(dog) decided to try to catch the frogs.  Guess I will have to pull everything out and reposition.  It was looking so good especially the Horsetail and now it is all knocked down.

Not sure what this i,s a friend gave it to me.  It is sort of like citronella but silverish gray leaves.  She called it Moss Fern and said butterflies liked it.  But I haven't been able to find it on the net.

Squash making its come back

This is a Black Tula Tomato.  Started these from seed.

This was suppose to be English Lavender but it looks like Tomato

June 1, 2013

It's been awhile I know but I sure haven't been bored.  Today I attended Plowday

Then went to a wedding at the beach.
The Wedding was actually at the Gulf State Park Campgrounds but the bridal party took pictures on the beach  across the street so I took some shots .  That's my baby girl's toes (my were in the ugly tennie shoes I wore to work).   I missed the wedding ceremony but made the reception. :)

When I got home a got a couple of shots of a few of my flowers.

and the dog had to get his mug shot too

Fun Day!
